Multiple open rank tenure track and tenured positions are available at the newly

established Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) – Yale Joint Center for Biostatistics.

This joint center aims to develop a comprehensive research, teaching, and collaborative

program in Biostatistics at SJTU with the recruitment of up to 10 faculty members for

both basic and translational research in the next five years. This joint center was

established by SJTU and Yale in 2014 with leadership and affiliated faculty from both

universities. As a leading research university in China, SJTU also has a world-class

medical school together with 12 affiliated hospitals. As the host of the first National

Center for Translation Medicine in China with over 1 billion RMB investment, SJTU

offers outstanding research and collaborative opportunities for biostatistics research. In

addition, the Center is reaching out to many government agencies and pharmaceutical

and biotech companies in Shanghai and more broadly in China for collaborative

opportunities. The Center faculty will be jointly appointed by the Center and one of the

affiliated departments at SJTU, e.g. Department of Mathematics, Department of

Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, School of Public Health, among others. The Center is

working closely with the Department of Biostatistics and other departments/centers at

Yale University for education and research, with extensive exchange and collaborative

opportunities. We look for individuals with a strong background in statistics and/or

biostatistics and desire to participate in the development of a world-class biostatistics

program in China. Beside core biostatistics research areas, we also recruit people in

translational medicine, e.g. biomedical informatics and high performance computing.

The Center offers competitive salary and start-up packages. All members of the Center
